The Bogey Flickers are once again the 2024 Runcorn Darts League Town Champions after a 5-4 win over Total Confusion in the Town Championship Finals, sponsored by Bully Darts.
In a repeat tie from the last Town Championship final seen both Bogey Flickers face Total Confusion once again.
In the First Leg it was Flickers who took an early lead as they opted for Ben Webster and Total Confusion went for Dave Harrison, Ben could of finished in 15 Darts, but had to settle for 18 Darts in the end, Ben threw 3 100s, 97 and nearly finished 72, non the less Ben made it 1-0 to the Flickers.
Leg Two seen Flickers pick Dave Garner, and Total Confusion opt for Reece Lloyd, both players hit 100 but Dave Garner nailed Tops to make it 2-0 to Flickers.
Next we had Paul Carr from Flickers against Total Confusions Matty Drury, both players hit a 100 but Paul rattled the double to win in 20 darts to make it the perfect start.
As we went into the doubles it was 3-0 to the Flickers who looked in TOTAL control, Leg Four seen Flickers pairing of Ben Webster & Anton Conroy face Matty Drury who just played in Leg Three and Rob Gatcliffe for Total Confusion. Rob started with a 112 after hitting D16 first dart, but Ben managed 101 and 100 securing the leg to make it a resounding 4-0 start for Bogey Flickers.
Leg Five seen Flickers combo Luke "TheNuke" Littler & Mike Warren face Total Confusions Strong Pairing of Alan Magee & Reece Lloyd. Luke & Mike knew a win here and it would be 5-0 and the Town Championships Trophy returning to Bogey Flickers and they didn't disappoint. The Nuke who didn't bring a set of darts with him, hit D20 first dart to get them on the way, and Luke also hit a 140, whilst Mike Warren did the hard work and hit the double to win the title once again for Flickers. Reece also hit a 100 as Total Confusion refused to give up!
Leg Six seen Flickers pairing Brad Walker & Rob Williams come up against Total Confusion's Dave Harrison & Chris Lindon. Brad managed to hit a 100, whilst Dave Harrison hit a timely 137 to leave a comfortable finish for his team, and with that Total Confusion had a leg on the board making it 5-1 to Flickers
Back to Singles format now and Leg Seven seen Flickers Callum Ward against Total Confusion's Chris Lindon, Cal hit a 140 and Chris managed a 100, Callum also hit another 100 to bust his score, giving Chris the chance to hit his double and he did making it 5-2 to Flickers.
Leg Eight seen Gaz Holmes for Flickers and Tom Drury on behalf of Total Confusion. We had our first 180 of the night which went to Tom Drury with his first 3 darts, the crowd wanted a 9 Darter but sadly it wasn't to be. Gaz managed a 122 of his own but it wasn't enough, Tom won the leg after a few missed doubles to make it 5-3 to Bogey Flickers.
The last and Final Leg and at this point the Flickers were already celebrating. Bogey Flickers picked Liam Ward and Total Confusion opted for Rob Gatcliffe. Rob played amazing well given the circumstances and won the leg comfortably in 19 darts, great way to end the night. Making the final score 5-4 to Bogey Flickers who are crowned once again Town Champions of Runcorn 🏆
