Bully Dogs are the 2023/24 Runcorn Darts League Executive Competition Winners after a 7-2 win over Norton Arms in the Final, sponsored by Tony Ayres Decorating.
Jordan Davies hit a 121 in the opening game against Alex Jones, giving Bully Dogs the lead. And it was soon 2-0 as Marc Jones rattled in three scores of 100 to win against Phil Hughes who hit a 121. Ron Taylor reduced the arrears with a win over Ros Hemmings, both players scoring 100 in that game.
The experienced pairing of Brian Spruce and Eric Peel then put Bully Dogs 3-1 up after a dominant win over Paul Nelson and Alex Jones. Brian got off with a 76 and hit 100 with Eric also having two scores over 80. And Bully Dogs were on the brink after game five as Marc Jones and Dan Glynn beating Ron Taylor and Dave Newman. Marc hit his fourth 100 score of the night in that game.
As with the Town Championships, the win was confirmed in game six with Ros Hemmings and Cody Davies beating Ged Newton and Paul Hughes. Ros and Cody both hit 100 in that game. It was then 5-2 as Paul Nelson beat Dan Wheatley, another rare game with no tons. Josh Taylor put that right in game eight though, hitting 100 twice to record a win over Dave Newman. The final game went to Bully Dogs as Morgan Cross overcame George Newton.
